MoveMed delivers the GLA:D® program at its clinic in Templestowe Lower, Melbourne. GLA:D® — Good Life with Arthritis: Denmark — is an evidence-based education and exercise program developed by researchers in Denmark for people living with back, hip and knee osteoarthritis.

What the GLA:D program involves

The GLA:D program at MoveMed combines education sessions with supervised neuromuscular exercise for people living with back, hip or knee osteoarthritis. Helping reduce pain and improve how you move day to day.

Your 6-week GLA:D program

The GLA:D program at MoveMed runs over six weeks, led by a GLA:D-accredited clinician, and is suitable for hip or knee osteoarthritis at any severity.

What’s included

  • A one-on-one initial assessment of your pain and function

  • 12 tailored 45-minute exercise sessions, twice a week over six weeks

  • 3 short education sessions (15–20 minutes) in the first three weeks

  • A final assessment to measure your progress

Fees & funding

$650

for the full 12-session program over six weeks

Medicare: with a GP Chronic Disease Management (CDM) referral, Medicare subsidises five sessions per calendar year.

Private health: the program may be partly claimable on extras cover — check your gap with your insurer.
